Douglas College Announces Tyler Lawson as the New Head Coach of Douglas Baseball

Douglas College Athletics announces Tyler Lawson as the new Head Coach of the Royals Baseball program.

"I'm extremely excited to be named the Head Coach of the Royals Baseball program," said Lawson. "The program has a rich history, and I'm looking forward to taking the program to the next level."

Coach Lawson's focus will be on building a culture of player development, accountability, and trust while leveraging his experience in high-performance athlete development. He is eager to begin the journey as the program transitions from rebuilding to competing at a high level.

Coach Lawson's most recent role was Head Coach and General Manager of the White Rock Tritons in the British Columbia Premier Baseball League (PBL). Under his leadership, the Tritons won the 2024 PBL championship — the program's first since 2001. Throughout his coaching career, he has successfully transitioned student-athletes to four-year collegiate baseball programs across North America. Lawson also served as Head Coach of the South Fraser Giants and as a scout for Prep Baseball Canada.

Lawson will assume his role as Head Coach immediately.
