It was a perfect weekend for the men’s and women’s basketball teams and a split for the men’s and women’s volleyball teams.
The men’s basketball team had something to prove this weekend, coming up with two big wins at a crucial time. Friday night they came out flying, leading KPU 44-27 at halftime. They continued to dominate and held on to a comfortable lead to take the game 88-66. The men’s team was eager to get another quick start on Saturday, starting with a strong lead again. CBC was no match for them either as the Royals won 97-80.
KPU proved to be a closer competition with the women’s basketball team, as the two teams battled it out in an exciting matchup. The Royals began to get ahead in the third quarter, and were able to maintain that lead and take the game 62-44. Saturday was an exciting matchup for the women as well when they took on CBC in a very close game. The Royals continued to battle and came out with the win 53-42.
Both the men’s and women’s volleyball teams split one win and one loss against COTR on Friday and Saturday. The guys fell 3-2 the first night, but pulled through the following night with a 3-1 victory. The ladies were shut out Friday night, 3-0 but got it together to beat COTR 3-1 on Saturday.
